Professor Poungrat Pakdeechote

I received my PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, in 2007. I undertook research training in the Department of Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences, Okayama University, Japan, during April–May 2009 and March–April 2010. I am currently a Professor in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen, Thailand.

Research expertise: My research expertise lies in cardiovascular physiology and the role of bioactive compounds in cardiovascular complications. My research focuses on the pathophysiology of cardiovascular complications in animal models of hypertension, as well as the mechanisms by which bioactive compounds modulate cardiovascular function and remodeling in these models.

Publications: I have peer-reviewed publications in the fields of hypertension, vascular dysfunction, oxidative stress, and the therapeutic potential of natural compounds.

International collaboration: Professor Silvia Arribas and colleagues, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).
